August has passed with less readings and more coding: I’ve been refactoring my AdAdmin software to better handle external libraries, finally with Composer and better separation from my framework components. These improvements lead to a cleaner software production and a general better framework. This is important because I use that framework also for other applications for me and for clients.
It is few years that day by day I try to improve my framework, make better coding, and use better coding technique. In past years I often fixed things on a rush, and after years all this races created some mess around. Time to fix.
I’ve also started to build an app with AI (yes I tried vibe coding). I’ve used Replit. Mu app is a tool to help people to keep track of the position of their books in a library simply by taking pictures of the shelves. First impression on vibe coding: it is ok to start, but it’s completely unable to complete all the tasks and make the checks that a human senior developer does. Maybe this argument needs a detailed post.
About one and a half year ago I wrote a review of the r1 Rabbit device, a lot of things have changed, and now there is a new OS version for it. I gave it a try since my rabbit was getting dust, it is really improved, finally they are using the touch screen adding many more interaction with fingers and less voice. Now it is more similar to a smartphone but the battery went out in an hour.
